Expect the Unexpected

I have had one of those weeks.  A week where unpredictability has reigned and I can't even remember or know what was accomplished.  I am task oriented.  I love to check off my "to do" list.  This type of week can drive me crazy.  I had unexpected lunch dates, a surprise trip to the mountains, my husband come home a day early, my daughter stranded at school, and my neighbor show up needing help due to a Dirt Devil being stuck to her head.

Ministry seems to happen in the unexpected moments when someone needs you.  It could be my husband or my children (my first ministry), or it could be a friend, or neighbor.  God really convicted me that the most important things aren't usually on my "to do" list.  I have to keep my "to do" list open for God to write in his tasks.   The most important things in life aren't grocery shopping, cleaning or planning events, but in reaching out a helping hand, being a source of strength and comfort to a sister in need, or pointing others to Christ.  Things that aren't scheduled.  Someone once said, "God doesn't want our ability, but our availability."  I Tim. 6:18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works,  ready to give, willing to share..
